If I could permanently

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

If I could permanently ban a word from general usage, it would be “rejection” and all its meanings. It is the worst word and worst feeling in the world; that word makes you feel bad about yourself and also makes you feel like an outsider. Many people can relate to this, as we use it so much and in different forms. No, “rejected”—you are overly qualified or underqualified. That is everyone’s fear at some point in their lives before they can overcome it, because we become better when we are rejected many times. But I would rather get a “no” than get that weird rejection letter. Thanks, but no thanks. That was my biggest fear, but I realized that it was for the best. But yes, ban that word in general. -CM
